India sold 9.40 Mt of DAP in FY2026, made 3.90 Mt and imported 6.22 Mt (Chambal MD&A). Even domestic DAP relies on imported rock, phosphoric acid, sulphur and ammonia, so India's real import dependence is close to total.

#### Position by region

| **US** | Mosaic and Nutrien make DAP/MAP from Florida, North Carolina and Idaho rock; DAP imports were at a decade low in Jan-Jul 2025 because of duties on Moroccan and Russian product (CRU, 2025). |
| **EU** | Imports most of its phosphate; low-cadmium Russian and Finnish material is preferred under the 60 mg Cd/kg P2O5 limit (EU 2019/1009). |
| **India** | Largest DAP importer (6.22 Mt in FY2026); the government absorbs world price moves through the NBS subsidy. |
| **China** | Largest producer; export licences issued only from June to October 2025, which tightened world supply (CRU). |
