#### Largest producers: India

| Company | Country | Volume | Year | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Alkyl Amines Chemicals** methylamines, ethylamines and derivatives; EBITDA margin 18.7% FY2026; Q1 FY2027 revenue Rs 528 crore (+30%) | India | 1,536 Rs crore revenue | FY2026 | [StockAnalysis (BOM:506767)](https://stockanalysis.com/quote/bom/506767/financials/income-statement/) |
| **Balaji Amines** 106,970 t sold; EBITDA Rs 294 crore (20%); Rs 750 crore Balaji Speciality Chemicals expansion into ethyleneamines, HCN and EDTA | India | 1,454 Rs crore consolidated revenue | FY2026 | [Balaji Amines press release (May 2026)](https://nsearchives.nseindia.com/corporate/BALAMINES_14052026115630_Press_Release_Signed.pdf) |
| **Diamines and Chemicals** ethyleneamines and piperazine in Vadodara (indicative) | India | not published | 2025 | company (indicative) |

India is broadly self-sufficient in methylamines and ethylamines through Alkyl and Balaji, and exports some. It imports most ethanolamines from the Gulf and Asia because it has little merchant EO (indicative). Feedstock methanol is about 98% imported (methanol tile).

#### Position by region

| Region | Position |
|---|---|
| **US** | Large integrated producers on cheap shale gas and ethane; carbon capture under 45Q credits raises MEA and specialty solvent demand (indicative). |
| **EU** | High gas prices since 2022 hurt ammonia and methanol-based amines; REACH restrictions on DMF (from Dec 2023) and NMP (from 2020) cut solvent demand. |
| **India** | Methanol and much ammonia are imported, so Gulf disruption in 2026 hit costs; Balaji reported a brief production disruption in March 2026. |
| **China** | Largest producer and exporter; low-priced exports of DMF and methylamines set Asian prices (indicative). |
| **Japan** | Specialty amine makers (Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, Tosoh, Nippon Shokubai) serve electronics and pharma. |
| **Middle East** | Ethanolamines on low-cost ethane; key supplier to India. |
