# Feldspar: Stocks

Large reserves, never fully counted

What this tab covers How much is left and how much is held. For minerals and energy: reserves, current output, years of supply and recycling for the top five countries. For farm commodities: production, ending stocks and stocks-to-use for the top five producers (USDA, October 2026). It also covers inventories and stockpiles.

#### Top five countries: reserves, output and years of supply

| Country | Reserves kt feldspar | Current output kt feldspar (mine, 2025e) | Years of supply | Recycling |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **India** | 320,000 | 6,000 | 53 | n/a |
| **Turkey** | 720,000 | 5,300 | 136 | n/a |
| **Iran** | 130,000 | 3,900 | 33 | n/a |
| **China** | 730,000 | 3,700 | 197 | n/a |
| **Italy** | – | 2,200 | – | n/a |

USGS MCS 2026, Feldspar and Nepheline Syenite, world mine production and reserves table. Years of supply = reserves ÷ current output; reserves grow as prices and technology change, so this is not a countdown.

#### Recycling

Feldspar is not recycled by producers, but cullet in container glass reduces feldspar use (USGS 2026). The EU end-of-life recycling input rate is 1% (EU CRM 2023). Italy's reserves are not available. No India rate was found.

World reserves are described as large, and resources in sands, granites and pegmatites have never been fully compiled. Reported reserves include China at 730 million t and Turkey at 720 million t. A reserve life is not meaningful, and there is no stockpile. Feldspar itself is not recycled, and the EU end-of-life recycling input rate is 1%. However, glass makers melt cullet, which replaces some feldspar in containers. Each tonne of recycled container glass therefore reduces demand for virgin flux.

#### Recycling
End-of-life recycling input rate in the EU: 1% of demand met from post-consumer scrap (EU CRM study 2023).

Feldspar is not recycled by producers, but glass makers' use of cullet reduces feldspar and nepheline syenite consumption.
