What this tab covers How it flows between countries: the largest bilateral trade routes drawn on a world map, 2024 UN Comtrade export and import values with the top exporters and importers by share, plus shipping routes, chokepoints and trade restrictions.

Garnet trades within HS 2513.20 alongside emery and corundum, so there is no separate trade code for garnet, and flows are described from USGS import data. US imports in 2021-24 came from South Africa (59%), Australia (21%), China (9%) and India (8%). US imports rose 37% in 2025 to about 210,000 t, largely from South African stocks. With that mine shut, buyers must turn to Australia and India. The United States relies on imports for 71% of its garnet use.

No distinct HS trade code for this commodity, so trade flows are not charted.
