World Mining Data puts output at 4.99 Mt in 2024, in a range of 4.5 to 5.3 Mt since 2020. USGS gives a lower 4.52 Mt for 2024 and 4.6 Mt for 2025, partly because countries report crude or processed ore on different bases. China (30%), Turkey (27%), Greece (20%) and the United States (14%) lead. USGS says the top four made 92% of 2025 output. The HHI of 2,254 means moderate concentration.
