Morgan records a 1975 forecast of a six-million-ton anchovy catch causing a political row in Lima (pdf p. 306). Leading shrimp farmers include China, Ecuador, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Farmed salmon is dominated by Norway and Chile. Aquaculture supplies a rising share of fish eaten, which lifts demand for feed.
