# Talc: Stocks

#### Recycling

France, South Africa and Turkey also produced about 300 kt each in 2025. USGS calls talc recycling insignificant. The EU end-of-life recycling input rate is 16% (EU CRM 2023). No India rate was found.

USGS lists world reserves as large, without a total, so reserve life cannot be computed. Country figures include the United States at 140 Mt, India at 110 Mt and Japan at 100 Mt. Identified resources are about five times reserves. Talc is dispersed into products and not recovered; USGS calls recycling insignificant, though the EU end-of-life input rate is 16%. There are no exchange or government stocks. Inventories sit with millers and buyers.

#### Recycling
 End-of-life recycling input rate in the EU: 16% of demand met from post-consumer scrap (EU CRM study 2023).

Recycling of talc is insignificant.
