Comtrade tracks titanium ores and concentrates under HS 2614, worth about $2.0 billion of exports in 2024. Africa dominates: South Africa 30%, Mozambique 18%, Senegal 8%, Madagascar 8% and Kenya 5%. China takes 43% of imports, and its imports through September 2025 were 3.8 Mt gross weight. The United States (10%) and Japan (9.5%) follow. US sponge came mainly from Japan, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. The United States charges 15% duty on unwrought titanium metal, while concentrates enter free.
