Arsenic: Production
How Peru and China came to make nearly nine-tenths
What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.World Mining Data shows arsenic output rising from 52,298 t in 2020 to 62,768 t in 2024. The HHI of 4,137 is high. Peru supplied 51%, China 38% and Morocco 8%. USGS figures match closely: 62,500 t of arsenic trioxide in 2024 and 61,000 t in 2025, against capacity of 81,000 t. Peru, China and Morocco provided over 95% of output in 2025. Belgium and Russia make smaller amounts. The US has produced no arsenic trioxide or metal since 1985.

India has no reported arsenic trioxide or metal production (USGS 2026). It imports arsenic: India took 8.1% of world import value of arsenic (HS 280480) in 2024, about $0.7 million of a $9.1 million world total (UN Comtrade). Arsenic is not on India's 2023 critical minerals list. Arsenic in groundwater, not supply, is India's main arsenic issue.
