Oranges & juice: Production

Why world output has stalled since 2010

What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.

FAOSTAT records 67.2 million tonnes of oranges in 2024, little changed from 67.0 million in 2010 and 68.8 million in 2020, after growth from 49.7 million in 1990. Brazil grew 23.3%, China 11.3%, Mexico 7.2%, Egypt 6.3% and India 5.7%. The HHI of 898 means the fruit is unconcentrated. Juice is another matter. Geman notes that São Paulo and Florida together handled 75% of processed citrus volume. Florida's output has since shrunk after hurricanes and greening, leaving Brazil even more dominant.
