Volumes are tiny. In 2021-24, Mexico supplied 90% of US imports, followed by France and Japan (4% each) and Israel (2%). US exports of thallium articles fell to 2,800 kg in 2025 from 3,190 kg in 2024 and 3,800 kg in 2023. USGS treats a 1,620 kg 'scrap' import into Puerto Rico from the Dominican Republic in 2024 as probably misclassified medical equipment. At these volumes, one shipment can distort the record.
