Zeolites: Movement
Why most trade is synthetic, not natural, zeolite
What this tab covers How it flows between countries: the largest bilateral trade routes drawn on a world map, 2024 UN Comtrade export and import values with the top exporters and importers by share, plus shipping routes, chokepoints and trade restrictions. There is no separate trade code for natural zeolites, so flows are described from USGS import data. They fall under HS 2530.90, mineral substances not elsewhere specified, or under finished-product codes. US imports and exports were each under 1,000 t a year, and USGS estimates nearly all of that trade was synthetic zeolite. Natural zeolite is essentially a regional product. A few hundred dollars a tonne cannot absorb long-haul freight except for specialised grades.
No distinct HS trade code for this commodity, so trade flows are not charted.
