Zeolites: Production
A mineral with no dominant country, led by Slovakia
What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.USGS puts world output at about 1.24 million t in 2024 and 1.3 million t in 2025. Leading producers in 2025 were Slovakia (280,000 t), Georgia (240,000 t), South Korea (160,000 t), China (150,000 t), Russia (130,000 t) and Indonesia (120,000 t). The top producer holds only about a fifth of the total, so supply looks unconcentrated. The figures are not comparable, though. Large producers often report low-grade zeolitic tuff used as building stone or cement pozzolan. US figures cover high-value uses only: about 80,000 t from seven mines in 2025, up 4%.
USGS estimate
World, 2024 1,240,000 metric tons (mine production; country bases differ) World, 2025e 1,300,000 metric tons (mine production; country bases differ)Largest producers by company, global
- Bear River Zeolite (United States Antimony Corp): 11.1 thousand short tons produced (2024)
- St. Cloud Mining Company: 18 kt a year (approx.) (2002)
Largest producers by company, India
USGS lists no natural zeolite production in India, and no Indian producer volumes were found. Synthetic zeolites used in detergents, refinery catalysts and adsorbents are a separate chemical market with no public Indian volume data found.
