LNG chain: Relationships

Every element and industry that LNG chain is linked to, and how. Each pair has its own card explaining the relationships between the two.

• Gas pipelines and city gas: In India, about half the gas consumed arrives as LNG, and regasified LNG only reaches users if the pipeline grid connects the coastal terminal to them. Terminal capacity and pipeline reach therefore have to grow together, with city gas a fast-growing customer. (researched)
• Natural gas: LNG is how natural gas crosses oceans, and it now links regional gas markets that pipelines kept apart. Contract formulas tied to oil or to US Henry Hub, plus spot cargoes priced on JKM, decide what importers such as India pay. (researched)
• Ship propulsion: Energy flows from LNG chain to ship propulsion; their prices have moved together.
• Ammonia: Their prices have moved together.
• Biogas and biomethane: Their prices have moved together.
• Combustion road vehicles: Energy flows from LNG chain to combustion road vehicles.
• Conventional oil and gas production: Energy flows from conventional oil and gas production to LNG chain.
• Crude oil: Their prices have moved together.
• Flare and off-gas recovery: Energy flows from flare and off-gas recovery to LNG chain.
• Helium: Their prices have moved together.
• LNG cold and cryogenic recovery: Energy flows from LNG chain to LNG cold and cryogenic recovery.
• Nickel: Their prices have moved together.
• Tankers, barges and fuel trucks: Their prices have moved together.
• Thermal coal: Their prices have moved together.
• Transport and logistics: Transport and logistics depends on LNG chain.
• Unconventional oil and gas: Energy flows from unconventional oil and gas to LNG chain.
• Urea: Their prices have moved together.
