Titanium: Production

China and Mozambique lead a spread-out supply

What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.

World Mining Data puts output at 9.0 Mt of TiO2 in 2024, flat since 2022. USGS gives 9.68 Mt TiO2 content for 2024 and 9.8 Mt for 2025. China leads with 36%, then Mozambique (21%) and South Africa (11%). The HHI of 1,987 means moderate concentration. Downstream, China dominates more clearly. It holds about 6.0 Mt of the world's 9.9 Mt pigment capacity and produced 260,000 t of the 370,000 t of sponge in 2025. The United States produced no sponge in 2025.
