Wollastonite: Production

Why one country makes most of the world's supply

Why one country makes most of the world's supply What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.

USGS estimates world output at about 858,000 t in 2024 and 860,000 t in 2025, excluding the United States, whose figure is withheld. China dominates with about 600,000 t, roughly 70% of the reported total, followed by India (120,000 t) and Mexico (100,000 t) in 2025. Canada and a few others supply the rest. That share would imply high concentration, but the data are patchy. Many countries do not publish wollastonite output. In the US, two companies mined in New York, and output was estimated to have risen by 14% in 2025.
