Cashew nuts: Movement
Why the biggest kernel exporter is missing from the data
What this tab covers How it flows between countries: the largest bilateral trade routes drawn on a world map, 2024 UN Comtrade export and import values with the top exporters and importers by share, plus shipping routes, chokepoints and trade restrictions.HS 080132 covers shelled kernels, not raw nuts, so it shows processed trade only. Exports were $1.66 billion in 2024, led by Côte d'Ivoire (24.8%), India and the Netherlands (17.8% each) and Germany (9.7%). Vietnam, the largest kernel exporter, is absent from the reported 2024 figures. Imports were larger at $3.88 billion; the United States took 27.7% and Germany 11.0%. The bigger physical flow, raw nuts shipped by container from Abidjan, Tema, Cotonou and Dar es Salaam to Vietnam and India, falls under a separate code, HS 080131 (in shell).
