Why China mines most while Morocco holds most

The HHI of 2327 indicates moderate concentration. World output rose from 67.6 Mt P2O5 in 2020 to 77.3 Mt in 2024. USGS estimates gross marketable rock at 239 Mt in 2024 and 250 Mt in 2025, up 5%. China has led since overtaking the US, which held 44% of world output in 1960 (Tilton & Guzman, pdf p. 150). US output has hovered near 20 Mt as Florida mines face falling reserves and grades.
