How one country's weather moves the world price

How one country's weather moves the world price What this tab covers Who produces it and how much: world output over recent years, the top producing countries with their shares, USGS world figures for 2024 and 2025, and the largest producing companies globally and in India.

FAOSTAT records 11.28 million tonnes of green coffee in 2024, almost double the 6.06 million tonnes of 1990. Brazil grew 30.0% and Vietnam 17.9%, followed by Colombia, Indonesia, Ethiopia and Uganda. The HHI of 1,418 is formally unconcentrated, but Brazil's weight means one country's weather moves world prices. Vietnam's rise on the back of Robusta is the main structural change of recent decades. Growth has stalled lately: output was 11.24 million tonnes in 2020, almost the same as in 2024.
